Two different air intakes

https://imgur.com/a/I2GByJNMZ SM 125 07' supermoto. On the left is the main, filtered air intake (with 3 fuses nearby). On tne right is a hole (left of the carb), which leads to the same air box as the intake, but it's not filtered. It looks like it could be designed to be covered, but it wasn't covered when I bought it (about a year ago) and it doesn't look like it was covered for some time. Carb was just cleaned and it wasn't particularly dirty.
