Is it normal to skip maintenance schedules if "there's nothing wrong with the bike"?

I ride a small 2011, 150cc cbr150r (basically a 150cc version of the cbr125r). I got it second hand at 7 years old with about 50,000 km, and the previous owner had no recollection of doing a scheduled maintenance apart from regular oil changes.Went to my mech to get a quote for a full check, and was told if there's nothing wrong with my bike, I don't need to do major maintenance.
