New rider questions on shifting

Hi all,When I downshift I apply the same method as when I upshift. I do the following:(1) gradually pull in the clutch while closing the throttle (2) shift down (3) gradually release the clutch while opening the throttleEssentially, regardless of the situation my hand movements don't change: everytime I pull the clutch in I close the throttle and everytime I release the clutch I open the throttle. I don't engage the clutch without some throttle applied.haven't had any issues with jerkiness doing this. Though I keep reading different opinions, that you shouldn't open the throttle while releasing the clutch and instead blip it. Or that you don't need to blip at all, instead you can just shift and then release the clutch without opening the throttle until after the clutch release. Is my current method wrong? I am rising a yamaha XVS650. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/g0g41q/new_rider_questions_on_shifting/?utm_source=ifttt
