Had my first real accident today

I went for a ride today because the weather was nice, but on the way back home I stopped at an intersection and was getting ready to take a right on red when a guy in a van rear ended me. The guy wasn’t going very fast and as far as I know I’m just a bit sore in my legs. The bike however got its rear fender mudguard pushed in a fair bit, broke the turn signal off, and bent a lot of other stuff from the impact/falling down. I have to say though I’m glad I wore my motorcycle pants because the knee pad totally saved my knee from a world of hurt. All in all not to bad just sucks because I’ve only been riding for 6 months (Took my msf in August and practiced for 3 months waiting to take Texas’s state test because I’m only 17) Hopefully this is all taken care of soon so I can get back out and ride! via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/f5k7pv/had_my_first_real_accident_today/?utm_source=ifttt
