I'm new to this sub so I hope questions like this are allowed. I didn't see anything against it in the rules.Anyway, I've been having this problem recently. I keep being woken up very early in the morning by my neighbor warming up their motorcycle. It's incredibly loud. It wakes up my girlfriend and me, and it scares the shit out of our cat.I'm not really the type to complain about a loud noise like that. Honestly I assumed it couldn't be helped. I don't know that much about motorcycles so I assumed maybe you just have to warm it up like that. But then one morning I happened to look out the window when she started it up and I noticed she goes back to her apartment after she starts it, and then comes back out with all her riding gear a little while later. Then she revs the engine for a while before driving off.I got a little curious so I looked online and I'm seeing posts that say, with a brand new fuel injected bike (hers is a new-ish Indian I believe), you really only need to warm it up for a few seconds. She usually warms it up for about 5 minutes and honestly that's the difference between me being able to go right back to sleep and me being up for the day whether I like it or not.I'm thinking about telling her that it's been disturbing us and politely asking her if she could make sure she doesn't have it on outside my window for longer than she needs to.I absolutely do not want to assume I know more about bikes than she does (because I'm sure I don't) and I'm not sure if there's some reason I'm not aware of that she needs to warm it up for 5 minutes and rev it a few times when she's leaving in the morning, so I figured I would come to you guys for some insight.I'm totally fine tolerating the noise if it's just a necessary part of her morning, but she may be fine with compromising if it's not, and that would be really really great. Thanks in advance! via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/et1w0c/question_about_my_neighbor_warming_up_her/?utm_source=ifttt
