On a whim, I stopped at Rochester Motorsports, mainly to check out if they had any used scooters, as Mom’s thinking of getting one and it’s got me thinking about picking up a small motorcycle for around town stuff...I currently have a ‘99 Yamaha Vstar 650 Classic with 25k on the odometer, and overall it’s a great bike, it’s just a bit on the heavy side for low speed maneuverability...While I was there, I saw the Honda Grom, and the Monkey, they both looked interesting, so I swung a leg over the Monkey, and it felt very comfortable, but a little taller than the Vstar, ergonomics were great, it was comfortable, and it’d be a perfect in town runabout, plus the retro styling is right up my alleyThe Grom was a tiny bit lower and I could keep both feet flat on the ground, the Vstar was still lower though, and the Grom ergos felt a tad crampedBetween the two, the Monkey fits me better, and now I’m seriously tempted to add a Monkey to my motorcycle stable, as I’d really only get around $1000 for the Vstar, it doesn’t make sense to trade it, it runs great and is comfortable, best to just hold on to it, and wait for an inexpensive used Monkey, I don’t do finance plans on depreciating assets anymore, no more car payments, no more motorcycle payments.I can be patient and wait for the right Monkey deal to come along. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/ewyxwc/hmm_maybe_i_shouldnt_have_stopped_by_my_local/?utm_source=ifttt
