This has probably been asked to death. But I just want a bike that's best for me personally to both learn on, and keep for a few years I don't want to start high and be one of those dumb kids who's like "1000cc or nothing". But I've heard 250cc can actually be dangerous after you're done learning and you hit the highway. I love the Honda rebel platform but don't want to pull the trigger on a bike and have it be bad to learn on, or not be good enough for daily riding. For that style of cruiser bike what would you recommend that's within the about 3-4k asking price. I'd rather not get a sports bike but I find they're so cheap that it would be perfect to learn on and not worry about losing a huge investment. (I see tons of 300cc ninjas and cbrs going for about half my asking price on the marketplace). Would it be better to go with one of them then get a higher cc rebel later? Or just get a 300cc rebel. Or do you think a different bike would be better for starting a new hobby and passion. I have no issues going with a sports bike, if it would be better and more importantly safer for me to learn. (Like weight, height, and etc of the bike). But what are your thoughts. Just wanting feedback and advice. I am 5'10 120lb. I'm pretty skinny so it does matter the weight of the bike. As it will definitely be safer for me to have a specific weight bike while I get better at riding. PS: i saw marketplace ads are against the rules, but asking opinions on specific bikes and their usual used/new cost isn't against the rules right? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/ek7uun/best_platform_to_start_on/?utm_source=ifttt
