Is it usual to get cut off by cars insanely often?

Relatively new to riding here (5 months). On average I get cut off 2-3 times in a 15 minute ride in a city. Half of this is a non-aware driver merging from a non-priority lane.Just a funny observation that almost never happened to me while driving a car. Great way to train my skill of anticipation though.
