My first MotoGP season (long post)

Alright so about a year ago, I bought my first bike a 2013 R6 (I used to race motocross when I was younger 50cc-250cc). I instantly wanted to get into watching another sport and figured I could try to get into watching MotoGP!

I really had no clue who was who, and only had a little bit of knowledge on how everything works, ie; point scoring etc. I decided before the season started that I would get a little bit of insight on who to cheer for, (I've been riding Yamaha since I was 5 so a little bias) I noticed "Hitting the Apex" was a part of Prime Video so I decided to check it out.

I fell in love with MotoGP just based off of that one documentary, I had a little bit of an idea on who I was going to root for. I decided I would root for the seasoned vet in Rossi, he rode on the factory that I wanted to support and his story was compelling. It was a cool off-season, I was so amped to watch my first race live through the MotoGP site (I didn't purchase the full pass though) I bought the first race and woke up super early Sunday morning to watch it.

After the first few races, and realizing how much talent was out there and how exciting everything was I was sure that Rossi was going to compete for the title this season and I was stoked.

However, I can tell you that after the mid way point this season my allegiance changed!

My allegiance shifted to the young guns that were making some noise. It shifted when I started to realize that I've already missed out on the glory years of Rossi, Lorenzo, etc. Even though Rossi was competitive, I could feel it wasn't going to be much of a chance because of his lack of consistency.

Many people might not think this year was exciting because of Mark's crazy consistent performances, however I took it as an opportunity to explore the new talent and watch before my eyes the new rivalries being formed.

I'm hooked and cannot wait for next season.

What are your guys' "way too early predictions" for next season?!
