Cornering

Hello, dear motorcycles fans.I am finally bored watching F1 and now got interest in MotoGP/SBK/TT racing. I have watched tons of videos since MotoGP seasons 88-90's and I've noticed an interesting thing about cornering.For example, back in 1998, during 500cc season, riders had a different cornering style than nowadays. They used their body but they didn't "lay" on the ground like Marquez is doing now.What's the secret? Newer technologies? Or "cornering evolution"?
