Will this jacket protect me?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread.I'm new to riding. Started super late in the season so I am trying to have everything ready for spring. I am looking for a good "starter" jacket.I want a jacket that will protect me decently, under 250 dollars. Is that a stretch?
