UK starter help

Hi all, I'm currently 18 and really want a motorbike and possibly to commute next year and am not sure how to go about it.I have done my CBT last year and have a full driving license but have only ridden mopeds/scooters.I am not sure if I should buy a 125cc learner bike as this is all i can ride at the minute or when I turn 19 do a direct access scheme for an A2 restricted license. Do I need experience on a 125cc bike prior to the DAS? Or should I wait untill I'm 19 and do the DAS and then get a slightly bigger bike?
