Hey peeps. 9 month rider. As the title says. Was moments away from being roadkill. Just left bowling with friends. Was on the 101 freeway (LA) and a truck to the right of me swerved straight into me as the freeway was curving. I broke real hard, which caused me to fishtail for just a moment. I then let go of the brake once he saw me and he swerved back into his original lane. Again, the freeway was curving as this was happening so as I reacted to the truck and began braking/decelerating, I wasn't leaning with the freeway anymore. I was going in a straight line, so I began entering the lane to my left, I had basically no time to check over my left shoulder for a car there, which there was but once I saw the truck moved back over to his original lane, I adjusted back into my lane and merged onto the 405N right after. Got off on the first exit and rode home through the streets.I've had some close calls before but this one shook the life out of me cause it happened so fast and could've really done some serious damage to me or even killed me. My bike is my only commuter and I'm not excited thinking about having to ride to work tomorrow morning. It's just upsetting because I really love my bike and riding it, but replaying it in my head scares the shit out of me. Curious to know how you guys handle these situations and the stress afterwards, what do you tell yourself? Thanks again sub.TLDR: Almost died on freeway, went home, gave ma hug.
