What's the procedure taking the license in your country?

I'm currently taking my license and it made me think on what's it like getting it in other countries.I'm from Sweden so I'll try my best to describe how it's been for me. There's three different levels of licenses.A: Heavy motorcycles with no power limitations. Have to be at least 24 years old.A2: Semi heavy. Limited to 35kw (~47hp). Minimum 18 years old.A1: Light. Max 125cc and 11hp. Minimum 16 years old. There are some other stipulations I won't get into but there's the gist of it.I'm taking the 'A' license.First you have to apply for a permit to be allowed to begin training. It has to be applied with a eye sight certificate as well as a declaration of health. Now you can start taking lessons and apply for a permit to ride with a instructor. This instructor can be a private friend but he have to had his license for at least 5 years. There are two courses that you have to complete in order to get to the next step. These are the Risk education 1 and 2. The first one is a 4h theoretical course where you go through risk factors with motorcycle riding. The second one is a 4h practical course where you practice hard braking, turning, evasive maneuvers and counter steering. Then you're ready for your big theoretical test. It's a big test with everything from different legislation regarding motorcycle types, max loading, weight and stuff like that to how to behave in different traffic situations. It's 70 questions and you have to have at least 55 of them correct. The last part is the practical test. It's where I'm at right now. This is divided in three parts. First you have to show that you're able to do a safety test on your motorcycle before riding. Check electricity, brakes, drive line and stuff like that. Then you have to show that you're able to creep drive in a obstacle course without using brakes or set your foot down using only the clutch to regulate speed. Then it's the high speed where you're showing evasive maneuvering at a certain speed and then hard braking at two different speeds. After this, if you're approved in the former steps, you have to drive in traffic where you show what an amazing and safe rider you are. Then if you're good and, at some degree, lucky enough you have your license! It's been a pain in the ass and not to mention very expensive but I feel it's totally worth it! via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/bnrj3q/whats_the_procedure_taking_the_license_in_your/?utm_source=ifttt
