Pathway for track/amateur Racing?

I wasn't born into a family that had the funds to let me race/ even had the desire to let me get on a motorcycle. I'm (hopefully) going to be a professional in a few short years and hope to have enough money to do regular track days or race days. I'm not planning to become necessary any good within "The race world" I just wanna be good for someone who started racing when they were 21/22.Any of you that did the same how did you go about it? What was your first bike? A new-ish 300 or a 10-15 year old 600? My specific comparison would be an r3 or an r6 from like 2005. I also plan to only ride motorcycles on track so if any of you do that as well some tips would be appreciated! Thanks! via /r/Trackdays https://www.reddit.com/r/Trackdays/comments/bkmxnv/pathway_for_trackamateur_racing/?utm_source=ifttt
