Do you find that people like to pace/race you when on a bike?

This morning, after getting past a traffic jam due to a wreck, I found that this semi hauling a double set of dump trailers was pacing alongside me. I didn't want to go too fast, but was hitting upper 70s in a 65, and he just wasn't dropping back.Then this evening, a guy in a lifted truck that stopped alongside me at a stoplight I think was trying to test his acceleration or something.
