Going from 600cc supersport to SV650?

Has anyone gone from a 600cc super sport to an SV650? I’m looking to get a new bike, and just wondering what I should expect. My old bike is a 2002 Kawasaki ZX-6R, and I’m looking at a 2006 SV650s, which comes with partial fairings.I’ve heard that the suspension on the SV650 isn’t the best, although I’m not sure what that would mean.
