What would be the best bike to get through traffic?

I have a 20 minute daily commute, which is 90% freeways that are gridlocked then 10% one way city streets that are clogged with bicycles, pedestrians, and other cars and buses.I was thinking the best bike for this task would be something that's (i) light, (ii) narrow, (iii) short wheelbase, and (iv) decent ground clearance for taking curbs.
