Sometimes the solution is staring you in the face.

My DR200 was having a ton of problems running lean. It was dying with the throttle, dying at stoplights, bogging down randomly while running (almost getting me run over at one point), idling extremely high, and refusing to start. I cleaned and rebuilt the carb, checked the boot for leaks, checked the throttle cable, and replaced the petcock. Still, it was running like crap.I was about to give up and put it up for sale when a thought popped in my mind. The idle mixture screw that the owner mentioned when I was buying it. I gave it a few turns counter clockwise and it was like magic. It went from a screeching "lawnmower" idle to a happy "brpbrpbrp" idle, and when I rode it around, it didn't die on me a single time. The throttle response went from sluggish to instantaneous, and I was completely floored by how good it felt to ride. The carb clean probably helped, but still, I can't believe how easily all of the bike's problems were solved by a simple screw. Just a reminder to everyone that if you're having problems with your bike, sometimes the solution is staring you in the face, you just think it's more complicated than it actually is. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/a75ayl/sometimes_the_solution_is_staring_you_in_the_face/?utm_source=ifttt
