Hi Reddit! I wanted to get your opinion on something I’m really struggling with.A little backstory: I love motorcycles, especially Honda’s. I’ve wanted one since I was kid, like five years old. I rode a minibike I had into the ground basically when I was 11-12. This year I finally had the means to buy myself a bike, a Honda Rebel 500, along with all the proper safety gear. I absolutely loved it! I live in LA near Kanan, so I would spend almost every free day I had riding in the canyons. Once I was comfortable I started to commute to work in the valley. The Accident: One night coming home from work, a guy made a left turn in front of me right as I was entering the intersection at about 35-40mph. I hit the front fender, flew into the windshield of the car, then the ground. My helmet saved my face and brain, my jacket saved my torso and arms, my gloves saved my hands, my boots saved my feet, but on impact I broke my pelvis and tore quite a few ligaments and had massive swelling in my right leg. Not to mention the trauma to my (hopefully this is ok to say) testicles and the rest of that area. I had surgery to put a plate in my pelvis to fix it in place and spent two weeks at the hospital. I won’t be able to put weight on my leg for another four weeks, full recovery in like 6-12 months.Sorry for the long post, but this is where I wanted my fellow Redditor’s opinion. I miss riding, even though I can’t even walk yet. But I am terrified of getting into another accident like that, worried I might not make it out alive like I did.So, what do you think? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/a8u26z/had_a_bad_accident_a_couples_weeks_ago_not_sure/?utm_source=ifttt
