After the qualifying round, I didn't think she'd be able to win it, but after working her way up to 13th place after starting at 25th, and Perez dropping to 2nd in the final few turns of the last lap, she earned the championship with only a single point to spare.During the race, while Perez was still leading, her team indicated to her that she'd need to make it up to 10th place to stay ahead, so when she crossed the finish line without having met that goal, she wasn't even aware that she'd won.
