Hello all,Today's a bloody great day -- I've picked up my first bike (and actually first vehicle) and ridden it home successfully without dying. It's a Royal Enfield classic 500, which was the bike that made me want to ride bikes ages ago.Of course I've read everything about how unreliable they are and the hopeful contrary points too, but eventually I just got it because ultimately I didn't want to have to secretly wish I had one the whole time. That said, on the way home I was negotiating traffic for the first time and man, it's pretty hairy at some points. It's one thing to theorise about it and then another to sort of be unfamiliar with the controls and feel of something - unconfident basically - and be there in the oh so fragile flesh with people behind you, trying to get you to go over the speed limit, all that kind of crap. Here's my TLDR question:What did you find most effective in building confidence? I know full well this will come with experience and time, but I'm trying to get as much info as I can.PS: it's worth saying I absolutely love the new bike and riding, I'm not spooked - just looking for some advice. Thanks in advance. This sub has been great and it's brilliant to be a part of it. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/ers0hj/new_rider_confidence_building/?utm_source=ifttt
