Just financed a Honda CBR300R, drove it home save and sound. I then decided to get some practice on a quiet mountain road here in Sherwood, OR. Didn't press hard enough/lean and look through a steep turn and laid it down in the gravel shoulder. The fairings, handlebar and mirror got scratched to hell. Engine, lights and pegs just got a little dirt. Some rocks wedged into the clutch, but I picked them out. Tank is still untouched. No leaks. Engine hummed just as it did brand new. Switching is still smooth, chain was untouched. For myself, I got a small road rash on my left hip(Jacket lifted up as my arms were above my head) but am okay. I feel like shit, but oh well. Lessons learned.Stay safe out there. Don't finance(makes it 10x worse feeling) Buy used. Start slow.
