A month ago, I purchased a 1995 Ninja 500 on craigslist. With only 6000 miles and a salvage title, I took her on as a riding project which I aim to make a streetfighter soon. After weeks of constant work I was finally happy to leave her alone and ride while saving up some money for the next bike in my arsenal. Today one of the neighbor kids talked to me for at least half an hour telling me how much he likes motorcycles and always wanted to ride on one. The curiosity he showed of even my modest machine was interesting. Questions galore of "how fast is it" or telling me "wow that's really old!" I asked him if he wants to start it, and he smiled and said "ohmygodyes!" So I showed him the startup steps and told him to be easy on it until it warms up. He turns the petcock valve open, turned the key to on, opened the choke, flipped the switch to run and held the button and she fired up and he is gawking at the noise. After the engine got hot I let him rev it "like this, not too long or it could break it." He nods and revs it and the biggest smile followed by a giddy laugh. I realized in that moment, I have helped a kid find his dream. He was still smiling as his mom called him back home. It doesn't always have to be something expensive, it just has to be something cool. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/8fi9t2/today_i_came_to_a_realization_of_something/?utm_source=ifttt
