Question about race suit fit

Hi all, I just received my Dainese Assen 2 Race Suit today and it’s really uncomfortable on the crotch area when off bike. While on a bike, it feels fine. I put on a back protector and a book to mimic a chest protector but I could barely zip it up. Should I try to break it in first or should I size up? I understand a race fit will be really snug but it was uncomfortably snug when I tried on. Any inputs will be greatly appreciated!
