Ninja 400 vs RC 390 for a novice dedicated track machine

Background: I’ve done a few track days in my Monster 821. Obviously, I became very addicted to it. I intended to get more regular at it this year and was planning on getting a middleweight supersport (R6 or GSXR600) as a dedicated track machine. Now that Covid 19 struck and delayed my plans, it gave a lot of time to contemplate.I wonder if starting with middleweight is actually a wise decision. I’ve seen all the expert riders start small (they mostly stop in a middleweight?!). Maybe the smaller ones are more forgiving and I can get the basics nailed down before adding speed to the mix. I hope that sounds reasonable?Given that, I narrowed down to RC 390 and Ninja 400. They both seem like a good option and a noob like probably cannot bring the best out of any of them (at least not yet ;) ). What would you recommend?Another interesting thing I found was that a new RC 390 or 400 costs the same (if not less) than a track prepped one. Why would anyone get the latter if they can get new ones and customize for their needs incrementally? Thanks! via /r/Trackdays https://www.reddit.com/r/Trackdays/comments/ggt07n/ninja_400_vs_rc_390_for_a_novice_dedicated_track/?utm_source=ifttt
