I am 44 & waited 27 years to get my first bike

At 17 i had some money saved up and wanted a motorcycle as my first vehicle.there was just 1 problem. No way in hell was my mother going to allow that.i quote "get a v8 but you're not getting a motorcycle while you live under this roof"In hindsight she was correct. I probably didn't have the maturity to ride responsibly at that age. Quite possibly just another statistic waiting to happen.I went on to take an interest in bicycles (rode professionally for a short time) and eventually bought a car or 2.25+ years later, i was talking with a friend who co-incidentally just bought his first bike (ninja 300)It was inspiring to talk with him about his new interest and how excited he felt learning this new hobby.and then it dawned on me... all these years i'd just been living my life and forgotten about MY dream as a younger man of ever owning a motorcycle. My friend and i made a deal. Our first motoGP - in Phillip Island 2020.I booked the accommodation for the 1800 km round journey, registered to attend a course and get my learners license and watched just about every video on YouTube on how to ride. (at this stage id never sat on a bike before)On my 44th birthday i got my license, took delivery of a new bike a week later and spent every moment in between learning about rider safety, equipment etc.I have a so much to learn and i'm loving it.All i hope for now is that the world resumes to "normal" fast enough so i can enjoy my first GP experience.
