Why does r/motorcycles froth of the idea of a Buell?

It makes no sense to me.It's a safe bet that in every Harley shit talk thread, there will be multiple comments about "I hate them for killing Buell", "They never should have killed Buell" etc etcThere seems to be this love affair with the idea of Buell, but no love for the actual bikes?Buell is always mentioned in every Harley shit talk thread as if its some kind of silver bullet to reach a younger demographic, and I dont get why.Young people weren't buying them back then, and certainly wouldn't be buying them now.Price wise, they wouldn't be cheap anyway, they'd be comparable or more then other Litre bikesWith r/motorcycles laserbeam focus on stats, why would anyone pick a Buell anyway? Heavier, less power, slower, etc etc then anything in its class.Theres an insane amount of 'Fuck Harley' sentiment, so why would people be buying a HD related sportbike?People talk as if the limitations HD put on Buell killed it, but when he launched EBR, he had no restrictions, the bikes where WAY WAY better than Buell offerings, they were much closer to the competion in nearly all ways, and it still flopped? When Buell was turfed, it may have technically be 'profitable' but he only made 200,000 odd thousand bikes in the whole 25-30years it was running. Harley sold more then that in single year. It's just always struck me as an odd argument and thing to say. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/fv813t/why_does_rmotorcycles_froth_of_the_idea_of_a_buell/?utm_source=ifttt
