Tried to surrender bike due to hardship. Instead they agreed for settlement at 50%. That normal?

Last summer I impulse bought a '17 new, Kawa Z900 for 7500$. I already have a liter sports bike ('99 Suzu TL1000s), so within a week, I was like "why the F did I buy this?" Then my work income got cut in half, then covid19 hit so I lost job. I called to surrender bike back (repo) as I can't afford it. They ask if I'd be interested in settling. I said I had some people coming to possibly buy my old bike for like 3k and I could pay maybe $3600 for the z900 then? I thought there's no way they'd go that low. He says hold on as he checks for approval. 90 secs later he goes "they approved 3600!"I was floored! Of course I agreed. I'm really wondering how low I could have gone. I guess covid19 is hitting motorcycle companies especially hard? I knew sales were down before this, but they must be almost nothing now.Is it normal for settlements to be half the purchase price? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/g6wbbn/tried_to_surrender_bike_due_to_hardship_instead/?utm_source=ifttt
