Electrical issue send help

1980xs850 so a weird thing i can’t figure out is happening with the headlight. It will only turn on, if it turns on, after a mile or so of riding. I’ve recently installed a new battery tho it was doing this before, new/used headlight relay and have already checked the fuses and connections. The previous owner installed a fancy led bulb with its own fan in the back of it but I haven’t had any issues with it before.
