So I found an old Yamaha XS 250 for sale for about 600 USD, not in a very good shape but as far as I know the engine should be fine. I've never ridden a bike and I thought I could restore it, make it a nice cafe racer and have it as my first timer. I learned a lot from youtube so theoretical knowledge isn't a problem, but I lack practical experience. Another thing is I live in Czech Republic (Europe) and there aren't a lot of spare parts for this bike. I wouldn't use the original parts, I'd probably find a different seat, lights, the problem is if the engine isn't ok, I'd have a hard time finding spare parts for the engine. Would you recommend to give it a shot or scrap it? Or any other advice what would have to be done to make it rideable? I'll be happy for any advice. via /r/CafeRacers https://www.reddit.com/r/CafeRacers/comments/flrmyr/yamaha_xs_250_worth_a_shot_for_a_beginner/?utm_source=ifttt
