What to do with your helmet between rides?

Hi all!New to riding. So far my rides have just been to get out and about, then come straight home. I've yet to go anywhere that I park and leave my bike.So I was wondering, what do you guys do with your helmets?I've got friends who said they used some kind of tether to lock their helmets to their bikes. Personally, I've never seen such a thing. Plus, I just put a Cardo Slim in my helmet, and I can't just pop that on and off thanks to how it is wired.
