A couple days ago, before COVID-19 shut down everything, I was waiting to go into the gym (still in full gear) and a guy came in to ask if I rode a red motorcycle. Instantly my spider senses were tingling. I ran outside to find an elderly woman standing beside my SV650 laying on the ground. She began by instructing me not to park my bike so far into the spot, it was directly in the center, and I shut that down right away. I picked up my bike and took some photos. Initially all i noticed was the broken shifter. Oh boy, looks like Im not riding home. I got the lady's info and calmly told her I would contact her once i fully assess the damage. She was driving a brand new SUV so I'm not about to let her off the hook for smashing into my parked bike. This was my first accident and I'm a little heartbroken to see my first bike damaged, but i knew it would happen eventually. At least it wasnt my fault. Me and my dad managed to fanagle a new shift lever out of a screw and some nuts, so ingenuity wins the day, and i was able to go riding before the weather turned.TLDR- Lady hit my parked bike because she wasn't paying attention and blames me, I get her info and fix my shift lever so i can ride into the sunset. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/flmwi5/love_when_people_hit_me_in_parking_lots/?utm_source=ifttt
