Portugal Pictures and VideosThis is a post that I've been wanting to make for a while. u/cardenios asking about Spain and Portugal pushed me to finally make this post.Last June I had a business trip to Portugal and my wife and I decided to turn it into a mini vacation. We had to spend some time in Porto while I had work stuff and we ended up there for the Festival of St. John. It was not intentional, but we had a great time and, if it works for you, I highly recommend staying for the festival.Porto itself has a lot to see and it's a great walking city so you should spend a day or two there if you need time to deal with jet lag.A little tip for Porto, don't go out of your way for the the Francesinha even if it is the local food in Porto. Instead, spend your time along the river and cross the the city's famous Luís I Bridge to the wine cellars. The wineries along the river are great and you can easily spend a couple of days just sampling the Port wine that the region is famous for. According to my wife, Taylor's has the best Port and their tour is really nice so make sure to check them out. While you're sobering up, you should also find a pastry shop or five and try Pastel de NataOnce my work stuff was complete, we rented a BMW F700GS from Northroad in Porto. They're a great rental company and they gave us the suggestion to take the N108 to Peso da Régua, then N222 to Pinhão and spend some time along the N323 from Pinhão to Sabrosa. Finally on the way back, they suggested we follow the N222 all the way back to Porto. The tour would take us along the Douro river into the vineyards where Port wine grapes are grown. The scenery was breathtaking and the roads were meant for motorcycling. I can't recommend the Douro valley enough. We ended up staying at the Quinta da Marka which was gorgeous and there were a bunch of other places that looked just as nice along the way.If you enjoy good food, good wine, good roads, and good scenery, Porto and the Douro valley should be on your list.PortoDouro ValleyDouro Valley againMore Douro Valleyhttps://reddit.com/link/f67and/video/8iy5v86z8uh41/playerhttps://reddit.com/link/f67and/video/jnq1446z8uh41/player via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/f67and/porto_and_douro_valley_portugal_trip_report/?utm_source=ifttt
