Just went on my first ride!

Well it was actually yesterday but I worked all day so didnt get to post, just recently last week I decided to get a motorcycle, it was something I had been wanting to do forever. Last week I finally said let's do it, did my research looked around, had a couple of friends come around with me and decided on one I liked so I bought it and my friend drove it back. Within a 3 days I had it insured, registered, took and passed my permit test and had all the recommended and needed gear but couldn't ride due to time constraints... Until yesterday! Yesterday I was able to go into work later than usual so took advantage of the morning I was given, called up a friend that could follow me around/supervise me on the road (we dont have any parking lots around here) and just...took off, well after stalling once or twice....3 times. It was a blast! Obviously it was a bit wobbly the first five minutes while getting used to it and I stayed around 15-20 mph the entire time, well aside from one point where I accidentally gave it to much gas and was going 40 before I knew it on a long straight. Quickly rolled off the throttle and lightly tapped the back break till I went back to my self imposed limit of 20 mph but I still thoroughly enjoyed it! I had heard it could be quite scary especially if you've never been on a motorcycle before but it wasnt neccesarily scary to me, more like exhilarating because you're so...free, and while I knew things can hit the fan even quicker than a car and do a lot of damage or even be fatal I was confident that as long as I respected the bike and rules of the road I would be okay so I didnt worry and just enjoyed the ride for what it was! I did drop my bike at a stop sign when it stalled on me but thankfully I'm decently fit so at least I was able to stop it from falling straight on and more a controlled descent and gently placed it on the ground on the frame sliders, no damage done not even paint chip so it was a good laugh and I was expecting to drop it eventually, at least I got it out of the way nowWell it's great to finally be a member of the community and not a lurker! Wish me luck and hopefully I'll be riding for years to come! via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/ex6iqb/just_went_on_my_first_ride/?utm_source=ifttt
