Best beginner bike?

I'm interested in getting a motorcycle sometime in the future and there is one thing that I can not agree with myself on. Which beginner bike should I buy? What price should I be looking at for a starter bike? What bikes are most comfortable to ride on? Also for price range I want to be on the lower end for a good beginners bike.
