Wearing a race suit off the track. Is it an overkill?

Hello, I recently purchased a one piece race suit from Dainese called Mugello R D-Air. I am aware of the fact that race suits are worn on tracks and just causal daily rides would be done with more casual gears such as an armored jacked or so. However, I have seen a lot of my friends who have been in serious accidents on the street and I would rather be overprotected than being under protected. With that being said, I am curious if it would be an overkill for me to wear full gear with the race suit if I am riding on the backroads or riding on winding roads and such. I understand that the airbag would not even deploy if going under 30mph so being hit while the bike is stationary would not do anything but if I go down while riding I thought it may help me.
