Theft proof bikes

I just bought a new bike (KTM 1190 ADV R) and i want to make sure it's safe in the parking lot. I can park it away from the streets behind our building on a parking lot that belongs to the apartments where i live so it will probably not be seen by too much people. But i rather have a few security measurements than my bike stolen.Also i would not describe my area as dangerous but you never know. So what are your thoughts an expiriences with different types of bike security?
