Shifting without using clutch

2012 Ninja 250I was riding today in 3rd gear when I noticed that my jacket was unzipped slightly. As I reached to zip it up with my left hand, the RPMs became high enough to shift into 4th and my left foot instinctively kicked up to shift without my left hand pressing the clutch. The moment I did it, I thought “oh shit the transmission” but surprisingly the bike shifted up without missing a beat and I continued on with my day.I don’t have any mods on the bike like a Quickshifter to clutchless shift, so I guess my question is how did the bike shift so smoothly with the throttle open. Is this one of those things where I got lucky and next time could ruin the tranny? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/ekmf1x/shifting_without_using_clutch/?utm_source=ifttt
