Riders who have personally experienced near death experiences or extreme injuries while riding but continue to ride, how do you do it?

I hear all the time about riders who quit or considering quitting riding due to negative experiences and accidentsNot hating on people who quit, it's their choice, but just interested to know how riders overcome such experiences and continue riding. I'm a new rider and I have had moments where I thought I would die but I enjoy riding and it's my only form of transport (Australian public transport sucks) so I keep goingWhat's makes you keep riding despite the likely possibility of death and grave injuries? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/erboph/riders_who_have_personally_experienced_near_death/?utm_source=ifttt
