This is mostly just me getting this off my chest, because I haven't had access to internet for 3 days. Also, written on my phone, so shitty formatting.A few days ago, I noticed my tyre pressure dropping fairly dramatically after pumping it up, so naturally I thought there must be a leak... No worries I thought, I'll just give a mechanic a call and drop by before I go on my 3 hour ride to a place I'm having a small beachy holiday.I show up to the garage, he happily takes my bike and chucks it on the bench, starts doing all the visual checks, and then removes any gravel that might be causing a leak. No leaks as far as we can see, bit odd, but that's okay, he'll just pump it up to 80psi... (tyre is maxed at 42psi), still no leaks.I think, hey, I mean if he can't find any leaks, that's okay I guess, should be right for my ride. So I say "What've you got the pressure on now?" and he says "I've brought it back down to 38 for you".I hopped back on my bike, started the 3 hour ride, made it, spent 2 days enjoying the miserable smokey weather of Australia, and then checked my tyre pressure before I started the ride back. 78 fucking psi. Holy shit. I am so fucking lucky that the tyre didn't burst on my way down for the holiday, with pressure that high, I'd have been catapulted off the bike and probably killed. How hard is it to lower the pressure after a checkup? How does this mechanic even continue to operate if they are that negligent? Fucking scary shit.TLDR: Mechanic pumped tyre up to 80psi and didn't lower it back after doing pressure leak check, didn't find out for a few days. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/elncsl/reminder_to_check_tyre_pressure_after_visiting_a/?utm_source=ifttt
