Looking to get into motorcycles

I recently turned 19 and was thinking of starting out on a motorcycle instead of a car since I’ve kinda grown up around em but never actually learned much about them and haven’t touched one in a while. I’m moving in a couple months to Pennsylvania and was wondering if A. Anyone can recommend me a starter bike the only really basis I have is the grom since it’s what my uncle had. I don’t know much about bike types was kinda wanting a sports, standard, or like sport touring. And B. Any tips for things to get like helmets and jackets and whatnot or tips for like winter since I’m moving from like a place that never snows to where it does every winter lol.Edit: I’ve watched some vids and leaned away from the grom.
