Lane filtering tips? New rider and I lane filtered for the first time today!

Hi all, this is my first week riding. Main boulevard is two lanes wide, and police closed the blvd off in the distance so cars are almost at a stand still.I basically stayed in first gear, held in the clutch, no throttle, right hand hovering over the front brakes. Whenever I felt like I was slowing down I used the friction zone to regain power. Whenever I felt uncomfortable with a small gap again, I got back in line like I was a car. I think for the first time I did fine.I’m looking for any technical tips on control and maneuvering, and any general advice filtering on side street for a safer smoother experience. Thanks all! via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/e6sdwc/lane_filtering_tips_new_rider_and_i_lane_filtered/?utm_source=ifttt
