So starting today I might make a purchase of a relatively cheap bike. It is needed due to my main vehicle snapping an axle and current public transportation is unreliable and inconsistent, and Uber/Lyft will extend my commute costs tremendously. This bike is 150cc as my job is less then a mile away and my next stop is Abit further, I know it won't reach highway speeds so I won't even attempt to ride my interstate. This is also mostly because I want to learn the ins and outs of a motorcycle for my lil brother, he's 11 now but I want to put my self in the seat so I know how he will feel at 16, learning on some abandoned mall parking lot. Also want to be there in proper gear showing him how to be safe. Now I know 150cc isn't much and it's classified more as a scooter (though looks more like a naked bike) I find it's something to just ride. It has a CVT transmission so I won't have to worry about a clutch (I have familiarity with a manual transmission in a passenger vehicle but not with a bike) I will upgrade to something proper in the future and would love more advice and picks. But for now, just want tips, what should I do after, what are the first things I should learn, and for the love of God can someone recommend me good shoes because I need to replace my boots anyways. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/e7dw2y/first_time_rider_wanting_advice/?utm_source=ifttt
