I made a huge wall of text before realizing I wouldn’t even read that myself. Gonna take another shot at this.Basically I have done all my own maintenance, clutch replacement, stator replacement, chain & sprockets, brake pads, oil, valve adjustments etc. on my own 125cc bike. I also spend atleast a few hours a week just researching motorcycle related stuff including the mechanics behind it and how everything works together. Been doing this for about a year now to be confident in my transportation. I was bitten by the motorcycle bug real bad hahaMy goal is to have the satisfaction of buying a bigger running bike for let’s say, $1k-$2k, throwing a few hundred and hours of my time into it and getting it in great condition mechanically.I would be bringing a very knowledgeable motorcycle enthusiast close friend with me to check it out but he won’t be helping with fixing unless I get stuck. I want to do this myself with the help of YouTube and service manuals.Should I go for it and any opinions?Been Looking at an older ninja 500 and late 90s -2000s carbureted/FI sport bikes with higher mileage. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/ega45g/buying_a_cheap_sport_bike_that_needs_some_work/?utm_source=ifttt
