I was really exited that my wife was getting into motorcycling, we bought her a brand new Rebel 500. She passed her MSC with 100% and was feeling really good about it. She took the bike out for the first time today, we were just riding the local residential streets to get her used to it, with me riding behind her. She was doing great, she killed the bike a few times at stop signs, but that’s to be expected for a beginner. We were stopped at a stop sign and she killed it a few times and was getting frustrated, the next thing I know she’s whiskey throttling it and ran straight up a tree.Neither of us know exactly what happened, but the bike went up the tree and flipped, and she busted her chin open really badly. She got a ambulance ride to the hospital where they checked her out and and stitched her up. She’s going to be ok, but it was really traumatic for both of us. I’m feeling a lot of guilt for getting her into this, and I don’t know if she’s ever going to want to get on a bike again.I’m torn between encouraging her to get back on the horse, or letting her decide that motorcycling just isn’t for her. She’s really traumatized, embarrassed, and feels bad for crashing her new bike. I guess I’m just looking for support from this community, has anyone had a similar experience? via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/e1cxpb/wife_crashed_her_bike_on_day_one/?utm_source=ifttt
