Just picked up this Honda Rebel 500 for my wife. Of course I had to take it out to scuff up the tires for her just to be safe. This thing is a blast to ride, it has enough power to be fun for me (I’ve been riding cruisers for 15 years), and is totally manageable for her, who just got her license last weekend.I’m honestly pretty impressed with this thing. Being a 500 parallel twin, it’s incredibly smooth and forgiving when it comes to shifting, and it will easily do 85mph on the freeway. It’s a great mix of low weight and decent power.I also test rode the Rebel 300, which I have to say is the most useless bike I’ve ever ridden. My old Suzuki TU 250x was way more peppy than the 300; I cranked the throttle in 2nd gear going 25mph and literally nothing happened. I didn’t even bother to try to take it on the freeway. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/dzulre/rebel_500_is_the_perfect_first_bike/?utm_source=ifttt
