How to out-run Highway Patrol (1970's)

My dad was in the Highway Patrol in Australia in the 60' ands 70's. They mostly had English bikes like Ariel Square-fours and Triumphs with the odd BMW. All the young blokes in the district had Triumph Bonnevilles. The bosses decided to update the Police bikes and gave them a bunch of Kawasaki 750cc Two-stroke triples. Dad said these things went like stink but on full song, would only run for 20 mins before running out of fuel. The local young hoons quickly figured this out and realised all they had to do when getting pursued was to keep going. Many is the time dad said he had to sit on the roadside waiting for a fuel-drop. Not long after that, they were given Honda 750Fours. https://imgur.com/gallery/oKBCPte via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/e2b0ai/how_to_outrun_highway_patrol_1970s/?utm_source=ifttt
