http://imgur.com/gallery/D8mmpLWPics of before and after above.I purchased this bike for $40 from my neighbor, who's son spray painted all of it black ( I mean everything). And tried to make it into a cafe bike. When I got it she was sitting on the headers which had wood hammered into them to make them quieter? And no front end on it. No gauges, lights of any kind, wiring harness, keys, airbox, etc... Basically for $40 I figured I could scrap it at worse if the motors bad.But dragged it home literally with my work van. First thing I did was test for compression. Once I knew the motor was good I started hunting for good used parts.I have just shy of $1200 in this total including the bikes price and registration and taxes. So lots of eBay hunting, parts off Amazon and loads of hours spent by me in the shop. I made the tank brackets, battery box, exhaust brackets (my rear foot pegs were cut off by someone with a hack saw). Rebuilt the carbs, did all the fluids, built my own wiring harness, found the cheapest dual sport tires that fit, mounted them myself with tire irons, etc... from November till now she is done. Now she's getting the bugs worked out as I'm racing it December 13-14 at an off road race that's only for street bikes. To anyone on a budget. You can do it too. Just search and search for good used parts and don't be scared to do the hard stuff like wiring etc... Yourself. I did all of this with no welder, just hand tools and time. via /r/motorcycles https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/dc8uso/turned_a_40_pile_of_junk_into_a_nice_tracker_for/?utm_source=ifttt
