Is it possible to go from continent to continent on a motorcycle.

Hi people, I was thinking at how crazy it would be to tour the world with a motorcycle. I'm from Europe so I know that I can ride in all the countries with the same motorcycle. But is possible to enter a country with a bike that isn't registered there? I doubt I can cross Russia without some paperwork to do. Do you have resources on the subject?
